Fisky and LS arrived about 1pm, but the tide was very low so we went to the
Estuary to inpsect, and check the wind. Al followed and went out by going
down the river towards Aberdyfi. He was gone for hours and when he came
back asked if we had been watching. (a small speck on a grey day, - I
wasn't sure what to say?)
LS borrowed a 4.0 Gastra as he hadn't got a small enough sail (he only has
a 6.2), and we sat on the beach for a while messing about with our rigs. I
eventually rigged up my 5.7 Tushingham.
Finally there appeared to be enough water so the three of us went sailing.
Sarah decided that she prefers sunny weather.
I sailed across and discovered my Boom was loose, so I had to sort that out
on the sandbank. The wind was strong enough to ensure that I was planning
easily, and I had a go at a couple of gybes, the closest I got was when I
got round and started to change feet but lost the sail. Nevermind I am
getting closer.
By this stage Fisky had drifted with the tide so I went up to keep him
company, and offer some tips. He improved once he stopped fighting the wind
and sailed back quite comfortably.
I then went back and had a sail around with LS. I was talking to LS and Al
popped over and borrowed my kit. His 5.0 was too small by now as the wind
was dropping. He managed to gybe it, (so I can't blame the board anymore),
but I am sure he found it strange, as it is so big.
All in all a good day out, and it was quite warm. I am impressed how much
LS has improved, and at Fisky's resiliance.
